BOTULINUM TOXIN (BOTOX) INJECTIONS

BOTULINUM TOXIN OR BOTOX, IS A SUBSTANCE THAT REDUCES MUSCLE CONTRACTION BY ACTING AT THE NEURO-MUSCULAR JUNCTION (MYORELAXANT ACTION). IT ALLOWS TO SMOOTHEN AND REJUVENATE THE SKIN BY RELAXING THE TENSION IN THE MUSCLES.

The wrinkles visible on the forehead and around the eyebrows result from the contraction of the muscles in these areas. Botulinum toxin’s relaxing effect decreases the contraction of the muscles, hence reduces the appearance of the horizontal and vertical wrinkles.

 

No preparation and no fasting are required prior to botox injections.

 

To reduce bleeding risks, it is recommended not to take aspirin for 15 days before and 15 days after the procedure.
